Overview
Timely replacement of your UV bulb ensures maximum air disinfection and continuous clean, fresh air for your home or office. If your existing bulb is over a year old, it needs to be replaced even if it still appears to work. Laboratory tests show that the bulb effectiveness drops off dramatically after 9000 hours, or 1 year of use (except for 2 year models).

Philips Sterilamp® Compact-Twin UV lamps provide high levels of UV intensity because of their "U" shape - achieving performance levels of lamps twice as long!  Either way, with Ultravation®  UV air treatment, you will have optimal effectiveness in germicdal performance.  (Sterilamp® is a registered trademark of Philips Lighting.)
Residential UVC lamps should be replaced every 9000 hours or approximately every 12 months. For people with respiratory conditions or other acute sensitivities, we strongly recommend keeping to an annual lamp replacement schedule. However, if your UVC lamp is strictly used for keeping coils clean on your HVAC unit, you can save money and the environment when you use your lamps for their maximum two-year life span.
